What Spokt is

Spokt: Read Aloud is an iOS app that turns things you read into audio you can listen to — with every word highlighted in sync as it is spoken. It reads PDFs, EPUBs, web articles, and pasted text aloud in natural AI voices, and it imports your own audiobook files (MP3, M4B, M4A, WAV — shared straight from the Files app) and word-syncs them to the book's PDF or EPUB using on-device alignment. A built-in Learner Mode turns the same library into a language-learning tool based on comprehensible input: a CEFR placement check, a leveled Discover feed of real podcasts, audiobooks and courses (A1–C2), tap-to-translate across 19 languages, per-sentence practice that scores your dictation or your pronunciation word by word against the native audio, automatic known-word tracking with LingQ/Anki/CSV import and export, and an hours-of-input dashboard with a daily goal companion. Optional spaced-repetition review is off by default.

What Spokt is not

Honesty is house policy, so the boundaries too: Spokt cannot import DRM-protected files (Audible or Kindle purchases stay in Amazon's apps). AI voices are natural but they are not a performed audiobook. Premium voices and heavy audio-syncing use metered monthly allowances on the free tier.
